Roachdale - Mrs. Mae Roe, 78, died at 4:40 p.m. (17th Jan) at the Putnam County Hospital in Greencastle. She was born April 10, 1887 in Parke County, to Daniel and Mary Ellen Miller. She married Bert Roe Sept 25, 1907, in Greencastle. She was a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church at Barnard. Survivors include 7 sons: Emory of Bainbridge; Everett, Russell, Dorman and Elden all of Roachdale; Buford of New Market and Floyd of Indianapolis; 3 daughters: Mrs. Elsie Gordon of Roachdale; Mrs. Iva Lively of Jamestown and Mrs. Letha Clark of North Salem; 20 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Barnard. The body will lie in state at the church one hour preceding services. Burial will be in Barnard Cemetery. Friends may call at the Perkins Funeral Home in Roachdale after 7 p.m. Tuesday. --- kbz
